Many of you may be thinking, “Just who is this guy, Darin McWatters, speaking at Fall Retreat?” We thought it would be good to get to know Darin before we spend a whole weekend with him on October 16th through the 18th.

You can tell a lot about a man by the former jobs he has held. On his website, Darin shares with us his many previous forms of employment, as well as his current passions.

Darin says, “I have been an insurance salesman, movie projectionist, waiter, worship leader, professional musician, camp program director, and pastor. Currently  I am on staff at First Baptist Lakewood, in Long Beach. At 1BL I’m a teaching pastor and pastor to young families. In addition, I’m on the road teaching and preaching about once a month at churches, camps, colleges, and conferences all over the west coast. I’m trying to write a book but can’t think of anything clever to say.”
