Weekly Prayer Meetings

The Prayer Team has reserved conference rooms reserved for weekly prayer from now until the end of the quarter.  We’ll be meeting in one of the conference rooms (216, 217, 218) at the top of the stairs inside the UU (ask at the front desk if you can’t find the room).  The specific rooms will be posted on the crusade calendar (to the right on the main page of the website), but if you just walk by the room and find the event named “Crusade Prayer Meeting” we should be in that room.
Note: There are a few days we couldn’t get a room so if you don’t see it posted on any of the rooms just head out to the area by the mustang statue and we should be out there.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Brian at 925-212-9012.

Hope to see you guys soon and we look forward to being able to pray with you!

Who is Darin McWatters?

darinsigMany of you may be thinking, “Just who is this guy, Darin McWatters, speaking at Fall Retreat?” We thought it would be good to get to know Darin before we spend a whole weekend with him on October 16th through the 18th.

You can tell a lot about a man by the former jobs he has held. On his website, Darin shares with us his many previous forms of employment, as well as his current passions.

Darin says, “I have been an insurance salesman, movie projectionist, waiter, worship leader, professional musician, camp program director, and pastor. Currently  I am on staff at First Baptist Lakewood, in Long Beach. At 1BL I’m a teaching pastor and pastor to young families. In addition, I’m on the road teaching and preaching about once a month at churches, camps, colleges, and conferences all over the west coast. I’m trying to write a book but can’t think of anything clever to say.”

To learn more about Slo Crusade’s Fall Retreat you can click here or just sign up at our weekly meeting this Tuesday at Mountainbrook Church. See you tomorrow!
