El Salvador S.T.I.N.T. Update for September

It’s been an eventful, tiring, and exciting first few weeks here in El Salvador: I  just wanted to give you a quick update on some happenings here and let you see some cool pictures from our first month.

Friday night we had a guys’ night (“noche de cheros”) at the Cruzada office, well-attended by 20 students from 5 different universities, a couple dads, and us three STINTer guys. It was a great time of fellowship, teaching, fun, team-building, and sleep deprivation!

Pray for us as we have our first weekly meeting of the year this Tuesday! The most exciting thing about it, is that is being run almost entirely by students! We’ll be showing a video to spark spiritual discussion, having a student share her spiritual testimony and being led in worship by Brian and Ruben, one of our key students.

Slack Street Party

Location: The Slack Street House Street: 1841 Slack St. The party is just past blue corner house on Slack st. and Grand Ave. right at the entrance to Cal Poly. Just follow the signs and the masses of people going to the party, and you\’ll know where to go.

Description: This party is always awesome, you know because it always get shut down by the cops.

Plus, WOW week is over relax before school start catch up with your old friends and make new ones.

Location: Dextar Lawn close business bldg. (Just look for the 2 story Crusade booth with a slide!)

Description: Come hang out and help greet the incoming freshman and see if they are interested in Crusade. Come anytime.

SLO Bound – Welcome the Freshmen with 2600 F.S.K.’s

Location: First Presbyterian Church San Luis Obispo 981 Marsh St. (Middle of downtown SLO)

Description: Come greet

the incoming freshman and help pass out around 2600 fresh survival kits.

Pre-fall Retreat

Description: The Pre-Fall Retreat serves as our “Welcome Back” party as well as our “Celebrate What God Did This Summer” time. And, of course, it’s the “Let’s Get Ready for the Fall” planning time.

Fall is an exciting and very important season for our ministry and the retreat helps us make the most of it. I would love if you could make it!

Cost: $3 (this is money to cover snacks and dinner) Pass the word!
Time: 2:00pm – 10pm (It is fine if you have to arrive late or leave early)
